Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. Despite my reservations about the course of post-revolution Cuba under Castro's rule, I continue to view the revolution itself as an important historic event, and to admire the many social accomplishments of post-revolutionary Cuba, not least the fact that it has withstood a half-century of U.S. blockade and aggression.
